Collagen, the myth.

I am no beautician, but I was a student of chemical & life sciences, and my friend who's a sport science student enlighten me on one issue: Collagen.

Truth be told, collagen CAN NOT be absorbed into our skin, unless it is broken down into its individual components, only then can it be absorbed by our body.

Most collagen based products now promise two things: To firm the skin and reduce aging as collagen is absorbed by skin. Reality? Collagen is quite a LARGE molecule, and is thus too large to pass through your skin for absorption.

Hard to understand? Think of it like passing an elephant through your normal house door. Can squeeze through? NOPE!

Recently, manufacturers claim to rectify this problem by "inventing" soluble collagen, basically collagen which has been "broken down into smaller fragments". They claim that these "soluble collagen" can penetrate through the skin's surface for the effects to work. Reality? The "soluble collagen" MAY (i emphasize the word MAY here) penetrate your skin, but they are too small to work as useful collagen as produced naturally by the skin. It works at best only in hydrating your skin and temporarily improve its appearance.

So ladies, keep your money in your pocket and don't waste so much money on collagen supplements to boost your appearance.

We're The Millers Movie Date Night at Golden Village

So yesterday, I made a last minute booking to catch "We're the Millers" sneak preview at Golden Village Marina Square. I was just damn lucky to not be called back for overtime, and since fiance is also not schooling at night, i thought it'll be a great idea to catch something hilarious at the movies.

Well it was worth the $32 we spent because we got 2 tickets to the movie, 1 popcorn combo which consists of a large popcorn & 2 drinks, $10 voucher to dine in at the food outlets at the newly refurbished corner of Marina Square ... and ... BELLABOX !!!

Okay. I don't know how ... I don't know why ... but Bellabox just makes me excited everytime. It was a couple's edition so we get 3 items each, 3 for la femme, and 3 pour homme. I initially thought we'd get 1 Bellabox each but well, beats getting none!

What we got in our Bellaboxes. I have received Veet's hair removal cream and Elseve's Extraordinary Oil before. I am super glad i received #Elseve's #Extraordinaryoil again because I really loved the texture, and how it moisturises my hair, making it smooth. It is also very light and less greasy as compared to other silicon based hair oils/olive oil. At the end of the day, my hair still felt smooth and doesn't frizz! Love it love it love it! But it's pretty expensive to me, at $20+ per bottle. I shall get them once my Herbal Essences hair cream runs out.

Other than that, i got ...
BIODERMA's Make Up remover
KIEHL's Ultra Facial Oil Free Toner
BILLY JEALOUSY's Super Slick Shave Cream
MONT BLANC's Legend

Well to be honest I haven't tried the Make up remover & toner yet, I doubt fiance uses any toner so IT'S MINE hehehe. I still have my make up remover from Maybelline. I'm a lazy person so i practically just use Maybelline's EYE & LIP MAKE UP REMOVER for my whole face. Yea it's quite oily but I always wash my face after that, so not a big deal for me. BIODERMA's facial make up remover states that it can be used on the face and eyes, i guess it's pretty okay because it says it's an 'ULTRA MILD' formulation and is for sensitive skin. It doesn't list down its ingredients though. Hopefully it's not alcohol based.

As for the toner, I still have one bottle of Jericho's face toner which I got from the Vivocity outlet last December, and i still have 3/4 of it left. The sales staff ain't kidding when they tell you that Jericho's products can really last you a loooong time! I know a few friends uses Kiehl's but I'm not so sure about it's properties (probably because I'm quite ignorant about skincare brands), but after seeing the label I thought i should probably try it some time soon since it's for normal to oily skin types.

As for the shave cream ....
no idea about it lol. shall update it once fiance starts using it.

eh, realized i typed too much about my Bellabox, I forgot to rave about the movie. Shall split it into another blogpost i guess. heh heh~

till then,
xoxo.

El Marino Before & After

This is a veryvery late post, almost 1 month backdated. Before and after pics of my face after 1 month of consumption.

4 satchets daily so 4 x 30 days = 120 satchets = 4 boxes of El Marino Blanc = $113/box x 4boxes = $452 spent on El Marino Blanc just in ONE MONTH.

I don't see much difference or change to be honest. Fairer skin isn't being accomplished well perhaps because i spend most days getting my skin chao ta-ed due to the rides home after night shift. I still have breakouts though it's getting less nowadays, my skin still has blemises and those i have no idea what bumps. To each his own, if you think this "investment" is okay and affordable for you, then you may might as well go ahead. Just don't fall into this MLM shit.
 Yours truly, Zue.

Bellabox: August 2013

I always told myself "I MUST BLOG ABOUT MY BELLABOX" but my attempts to blog about my Bellabox failed miserably. I have been subcribing to Bellabox for quite some time now and it only managed to fail me one or twice.

I shall say that August 2013's Bellabox is something that I'm excited about!

my LIFE INC. TEAISM Brew
it's main purpose is to take care of your inner wellbeing. Some sort like a detox. All you have to do is just stuff the whole aluminium wand (don't worry it is FDA approved), and drink it how you would normally do for your normal teas. Comes in Ginger Black Tea (for Comfort), Green Tea (for Balance), Fancy Black Tea (for energy), Osmanthus Oolong Tea(for restoration) and Blueberry tea (for Protection). It's like a healthy tea but i'm slightly skeptical about the tea though. Personally I haven't tried the tea yet, shall prepare the tea when I am in need of an extra energy boost or at times when i'm feeling extra uneasy (since i get the wands/satchets for energy and for comfort. but eww, GINGER black tea?!)

Bellabox also threw in a discount voucher to purchase the tea. Can be purchased online and is sold for $1.50 per wand

ModelCo Cheek & Lip Tint

ModelCo Cheek & Lip Tint

OMG~ i am in love with ModelCo's products eversince i got the lipgloss sample from BB. Loved the tint and how it goes on my lips but it looks ugly on my lips because i always always ALLLWAYS have cracked lips. Didn't try it on my cheeks I'm a flop, total flop at applying anything on my cheeks

HARNN Hand Cream in Oriental Rose with Coenzyme Q10

LOVED THE PACKAGING! however haven't tried/open the tube yet as i still have 2 tubes of hand cream that my mentor bought for me from Korea. Seriously, seriously in love with the packaging. So sayang to open!

Dermedex Anti-acne Challenge Pack

YEY. FINALLY SOMETHING FOR MY ACNE WOES!
Comes in two tubes, one is the refining cream 2 and the other is the biotox cleanser. Here is what is stated in the sample card:

"Refining Cream 2 uses all natural ingredients combining Chinese Herbs and western technology to combat pimples and oily skin, while the biotox cleanser achieve deep cleansing while keeping your skin moisturised. All thee in just 3 days"

*GAGS FOR AIR* omg omg this is soooo like tempting!! yes i know i got this bellabox set some time last week but i was too busy with work to even try the products! Let's see how things goes after 3 days. Wondering if i should try it when i'm just staying home or if i should try it on my normal working days.

I AM UP FOR THE CHALLENGE BABY!

Make Up Forever Mini Rogue Artiste Intense

loved the color. but not for me. too red. doesn't really suit me and the way i dress up, to be honest.
(though this year raya there's alot of ladies wearing bright red lipstick like whoaaa!)

Bonus item: L'egere Aqua Smoothing Essence-in CC Cream

Honestly, what is a CC cream? I only know what is a BB cream. Anyway, doubt that i would use this.

Wotnot Facial Wipes
made from 100% natural fibre wipes. it's ingredients used in the wipes are also all-natural, comprises of aloe, rosehip oil and vitamin E, thus suitable for those with sensitive skin.

Last but not least, a different packaging for this month's Bellabox. LOVE THE DESIGN!!!

So glad to have Bellabox. thanks to bellabox, my make up stash is increasing. add on to the stocks that i keep at home for my facebook business. i think as time passes by my room can turn into a storeroom. lol~

Jamu Susuk Dara

I came across this post on a facebook group which really caught my eye. It boasts of effects that will whiten your private parts and even tighten your vagina. Then, i thought, this looks interesting, and did more research on what other products does this brand have. It varies from herbal capsules that can be inserted into the vagina, feminine wash, slimming soap and sinus soap.

These products are by Jamu Susuk Dara, which is based on herbs that were long formulated by our Malay ancestors.

The hot product is called "Masker Vagina".

It is a product that is in powder form and each box contains 5 grams. Contains a various mix of natural herbs that are carefully picked and grind into the powder that is packed and sealed in this plastic.

How it is being used?
- used each time after the vagina is being cleaned and applied on like normal powder, with the exception that you only need to dab your index finger into the powder and tap it on your vagina bit by bit. application is only to the external areas of the vagina plus the sides, lips and clit of your vagina.
- when cleansing the vagina, scrub away any excess mask that is on your vagina. this is to help rid of any dead skin that is on your vagina

Benefits:
- makes surface of vagina and the area around it tight and smooth
- tightens your vagina
- the "sagging skin" around your vagina that is due to afterbirth will become tout
- frequent usage will return your original pinkish tone of your vagina
- increased sensitivity of the vagina and increased libido
- reduces itchiness
- reduces vaginal discharge and also reduces bad odour

Personally i have tried this product. And hell yea it works. my discharge has also lessen so i seldom get soggy pantyliners after a day at work.

FYI, i have been using this product for over a month before blogging about this. I was sure to try this because i have read alot of testimonials from alot of women in Malaysia. Thus, I thought it would be a damn good idea to introduce this to my friends as i doubt this product has alot of marketing in Singapore. Have heard stories, LOTS of stories about men running away or cheating on their partner's back, sleeping with other women. Is it because of the lack of love, is it because of the "no longer tight" factor? Then readers, this is the product to try!

Also, this masker vagina is multi purpose. Since it has whitening effects, it can also be applied to the armpits as well. One of the Malaysian user even applied it onto her son's nose after a fall that caused a gush in his nose.

Top left & right photo: Day 1 of incident; wound won't dry up.
Bottom left photo: Day 2 of incident; application of masker vagina on the wound. Wound starting to dry up
Bottom right photo: Wound starting to heal
Top right most photo: Her little boy is healed!

This is what a fully herb-based product can do to you.
It contains betel leaves (daun sirih), cloves (cengkih), oak galls (manjakani) & white rose (bunga rose putih).

Drop me a message/whatsapp me at +65 96345444.
Any queries I will be pleased to assist you.

El Marino Blanc?

Of late, I have seen increasing posts on people promoting the product El Marino Blanc by Elken. sooo much that it seemed like the Bioslim product have lost its market on Facebook. (Note: i am not affiliated with Bioslim products or it's company, Unicity)

Well, I have stopped consuming El Marino for quite a while now, my last consumption was in Mid July i guess. I thought I should just let my mother consume the remaining boxes and satchets of the El Marino Blanc since she needs it more than me (collagen helps with the joints), whilst I am just consuming it for my own beauty needs.

Perhaps out of the many testimonials of El Marino Blanc online, I am the only one providing negative feedback on the product. It's not that i have not tried the product long enough, but i thought, if the product works so fast but it doesn't last long, then i may just as well stop consuming the product once and for all. Yes, my face showed signs of improvement when it stopped being so ridiculously oily and breakouts aren't as often, but after awhile, my face starts to be oily again even after consuming the product religiously.

And as for my mother, nothing much as really improved for her legs. She still feels pain in her legs when she walks, which is a sign for concern for me though.

Right now, you may be wondering, why are people suddenly promoting and hardselling the product? It's because of the incentives that is in store for them when they manage to get people to buy the product. What is it called? MLM? Network marketing?

Well my friend, MLM/network marketing sure is a lucrative market to break through for you to get rich quick. But do you seriously think it is easy to achieve what those "big shots"achieved? I first thought it was easy to get customers to purchase the products but i was sooo wrong. I let out my troubles on how i couldn't get a sale under me, and all i got was "you should try your parents, friends, relatives". I know my relatives just so damn well and i know that they aren't financially capable of getting such stuffs. In other words, my family is just not so well off. And what do i get? "don't judge them".

oh hello? since you told me to judge me, why then, are there still stories of people living in poverty and still needing financial help from the government? since it seems sooo easy for you, why then, do you not personally find these people and lure them into the MLM business since it will be just right for them to earn extra income that will put them out of poverty?

The answer is simple, isn't it? that group of people can't afford to fork out the money that is needed to fund your commission.

As time passes by, i feel that the MLM network is just filled with individuals who are greedy and selfish. they are pushing for the people below them to "meet the target meet the target" so that the downlines can "bring extra money home for their family". But the irony? these "atas" people also earn commission!

different people live by different set of principles. well to be honest i am not one who will hard sell or make people buy (they call it sharing) by claiming this product has this and that and it's good for this and that.

even if the product really works, it's really costly to maintain. one box contains 30 satchets, which is to be consumed 4 daily (2 morning and 2 at night). one box will barely last you for a month! and mind you, a box of 30 satchets costs $113 RETAIL PRICE. it will be a costly supplement to maintain.

i'm sorry. i'm leaving the networking industry. it's just not for me. i hate people asking me to sacrifice work (are you fucking kidding me?) to attend seminars, and then saying if i don't sacrifice, i don't make the effort to make my life and my family's life easier. different strokes for different folks baby.

it's okay. even though my basic salary is barely $1.7k, i guess i'm happier living my life paycheck to paycheck.

not forgetting, i still have my sideline business on facebook. i prefer to do direct selling. promoting products that are already known at cheaper than retail prices. promoting health products that increases the well being of the female reproductive organs at much cheaper than what i used to do under this networking shit.

When I do things, I do not only think of myself. I also think of the people who are going to be my prospective customer. Because i truly understand the need for people to save while they shop, thus i don't really wish to sell my items at such exuberant prices.

Well it is up to the individuals to be promoting El Marino or otherwise. I am not providing negative feedback just because i couldn't find anyone to buy it from me, neither am I providing negative feedback because I am not the lucky ones who manage to seal deals of 10-20 sets of El Marino Blanc, my feedback is entirely based on what me and my mother experience after consumption of a total of 11 boxes of El Marino Blanc over a period of 2 months.

The fuck thing?
Paying for this product BY INSTALLMENTS over 3 bloody months, but even when the installment have not been fully paid, the product is already finished.

This is sooooo frustrating i can't even.
